Why Singapore must not be complacent in her achievements

After reading the five articles, I understand Singapore should not be complacent in her achievements.
Even though we are doing quite well right now, we should never stop progressing thinking we are already good enough. Being a small country, many coutries are able to overtake us in different ways very easily. For example, Singapore used have the busiest port but for these few years, ShangHai has been progressing and has overtook Singapore, widening the gap as China is now growing very rapidly. If Singapore was too complacent, other coutries which are much bigger than us can and will easily attack and take over Singapore due to complacency. Other countries might also not want to work with Singapore or maintain a good relationship to Singapore's complacency and this may result in Singapore have more enemies than friends and there would be an effect on Singapore's economy, people and safety. We should just be humble and appreciate what we have ourselves and also learn from other better countries and improve ourselves further. We can never stop learning and progressing, as there is too much to improve on.
